A special word of thanks must go out to the Huisgenoot/You magazines for the story they published in the 1 December 2011 edition.
The fantastic story written by Jaco Hough-Coetzee and the stunning photographs by Rowyn Lombard made the day well worth it.

Welcome to the January 2011 update of my website.
For those of you new to this site – Welcome! In a nut shell this site is about me and a dream I have had for a very long time. You see I was seriously injured in a flying accident in 1987. I was left a C6/7 quadriplegic with limited to no feeling and movement from the chest down.
Flying, to me and I am sure many others, is like an incurable disease – once infected NO CURE!

I am desperately trying to find Major Alberto Ley Rivas, a Mig 23 pilot from the Cuban Air Force. Maj Rivas we've met briefly once before and then it was only for a couple of secondsĀ at 30000 feet over Southern Angola in September 1987. The encounter at the time wasn't a friendly one but I am hoping that the next time we meet it will be with a lot of laughter and no regrets or remorse.
