Today was an exciting day for all. We finally cut the DOOR into the aircraft.

The aircraft has been in the country for a long time and I have never had the pleasure of sitting in my own aircraft. Well that changed today! Owen and his team have spent the last few days preparing for this momentous occasion. The left side or is that the starboard side, of the aircraft needed redesigning. We needed to cut through the longeron in order to have a door that will make the aircraft accessible.

There has been many hours of debate regarding this door but Owen finally came up with the numbers on how to strengthen the side and still be able to cut the door. It was nerve racking as there was no turning back now. We all held our breath as Owen used the jigsaw to cut out the door panel.

I couldn't wait to get into the aircraft. The seats were placed into position. I transferred albeit very awkwardly onto the uncompleted seat. It will take some serious practice to find out where I need to push and pull to get in and out without looking like I am struggling.

Once in it was emotional.
