Golf Day and Fundraising Dinner PDF Print E-mail
Written by Arthur D Piercy

I have been blessed with fantastic friends who are planning to go the extra mile for me so that I can realize my dreams. How does one find the words to thank them enough for the support?

I met Andrew Wood through a mutual friend Brian Wilson. Andrew and I have not even been face to face. We’ve been communicating via Face Book, email and cell phone.

Andrew and his company Andrew Wood Properties, have taken it upon themselves and his network of friends to arrange a golf day and a formal sit down dinner as a fundraising initiative for Project Dreamwings.

On the 8th of March 2012 they are planning a golf day at the Beachwood Golf course neighbouring Virginia Airport in Durban. Then on the 9thof March 2012 they are planning a formal dinner that will be held in 15 Squadron’s hangar. (Yes I know it’s a chopper jock hangout and I will live with it wink)

Andrew is requesting that if you would like to get involve in one or both of the events then you must please contact him directly on This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it  or on the cell 083 2940555.

If you have a 4 ball that would like to play, wish to sponsor a hole or prizes for the golf day or you wish to book a corporate table for the dinner then please contact them immediately.

We are also looking for corporates to come onboard as major sponsors of either of the two fundraising events or as the title sponsors of Project Dreamwings with extensive branding possibilities.

This is a dual fundraising event as the monies raised will be used for Project Dreamwings and the Kwazulu-Natal Quadriplegic Association.

Please come and support us in making this a fun filled two day event. We are looking to make this two day campaign the aviation event of 2012 with all who are passionate about aviation meeting up for fun, stories and camaraderie.

Extracts from a testimonial recieved from the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA)

"I would like to thank Arthur Piercy for inspiring us. We need to always have driven and positive human beings like him, who don't constantly dwell on the ills of the past but on the possibilties of the future" (Zola)

"To me the important points that he made were that one's life is very important and it is that indiviual's responsibility to take care of it no matter what; and that determination can conquerany obstacle" (David)

"I was humbled by his humility, determination and passion for life. Nothing can and will stand in his way and I admire it about him. He just opened my eyes to the fact that if you want to you can, all you need is determination" (Ntombi)

"Indeed your response to a life changing circumstance certainly places you in a special class, somewhere above the rest of us. But your incredible sense of humour, your humaness - those form the bridge that allows ordinary human beings to rub shoulders with you and face their own, smaller situations, encouraged. Thank you for that." Nadia Coetzee : Director: Foreign Qualifications Evaluation and Advisory Services.
